Like many countries, Somalia is facing an unprecedented challenge with the Covid-19 pandemic. Currently, health care workers at De Martino Hospital do not have adequate equipment and supplies necessary to treat patients and keep themselves safe.
50 people have died in the past two and a half weeks in the COVID-19 isolation center.
Health authorities in Somalia say the country has been hit by a second wave of the coronavirus, blaming travels abroad and public gatherings ahead of elections for the increase in cases.
